About us

Pook is a design studio formed by Aled Lewis and Jon Elliman. We share the same design values: Clear, effective design to help you promote your business and services.

We call ourselves graphic designers and it’s a term that covers a myriad of creative practices. We are problem solvers, thinkers, makers, artists, illustrators and coders; all rolled into one. Well, two.

Experience

We’ve been doing this for a long time. By combining our talents, we offer a range of creative services: from print design to web design, illustration and logo design. We can do it all.

Flexible

We are quick to adapt and respond, ensuring that projects run on time and are delivered on budget. We offer monthly payments so you can spread the cost over time.

Personal

As a two-person studio, we offer a personal service and work in close collaboration with our clients. We are transparent if we bring in outside expertise.

Why Pook?

We share a love of the countryside where we live in Hampshire, as well as local folklore and history. We wanted to reflect this connection to our home in our new collaboration. Dotted all over the county are remnants of the old days in the names of villages, rivers, woods and hills. Hidden away among those names is the word Pook.

Pook icon

Pook is a mischievous little gobliny fellow who is prevalent in many Northern European cultures. He is also known as Pwca, Bucca and Púca. Robin Goodfellowe, Hobgoblin and, of course, Puck. He is a character central to both Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Kipling’s Puck of Pook’s Hill.

Pook sits at the heart of our brand: Playful, mischievous and clever.

Aled Lewis

Aled has been working as a creative for over 20 years, connecting brands to audiences through his humour and storytelling, bringing together elements of pop culture, humor, and nostalgia.

From gallery exhibitions to esteemed commercial clients, Aled has showcased his work worldwide with brands such as LEGO, Bethesda Softworks, NYT, Penguin Random House, Polaroid, and Sony. He is the author of several books and created greetings cards that have been sold internationally.

He is a life-long gamer, a dad and volunteer football coach who sometimes runs marathons, but who doesn’t these days?

Jon Elliman

Jon is a graphic designer with over thirty years’ experience in the creative industries. He’s worked in and run artworking and design studios in London, but has worked alone in rural Hampshire for the last ten years helping businesses solve their design and marketing problems.

Over the years he’s worked on design projects for hundreds of businesses, including well-known brands such as McDonalds, Krispy Kreme, IBM, WorldPay, Whistles, Berkeley Homes and Top Gear Magazine.

When he’s not walking his dogs to the pub, he’s a governor at the local Primary School and teaches children how to set fire to stuff at Forest School. He likes beer, board games and bicycles.
